CLAIRVOYANCE!
The NightWing clairvoyance techniques harness the power of the FileMaker 7 (and later), along with the current release of the ground-breaking MenuMagic plug-in. We believe that these techniques provide a powerful alternative to previous 'passive' type-ahead filtering systems - or those relying on loop-locked scripts.
The Implementation Resource Kit:
We are offering a resource kit which will provide Filemaker developers with a jump start at implementation of these advanced techniques which provide seamless and fully automated key trapping and type-ahead interfaces in FileMaker Pro:
- watch a filtered portal update automatically with each keystroke - no need to click out of the field to see it refresh!
- provide shaded/colored text type-ahead style 'autofill' to deliver a fully automatic clairvoyance-style interface. Suggested completions appear dynamically ahead of the cursor as the user types!
- provide full keyboard control of the selection of items from filtered portal lists.
- turn the feature on and off dynamically as users enter and exit the relevant field/s.
- the technique is fully compatible with the requirements of cross-platform implementations.
- adapt elements of the techniques to acheive a wide variety of effects based on the underlying key-trapping methodology.
This release includes four example files which illustrate alternative implementations of the NightWing clairvoyance techniques.
Note: Implementation requires the MenuMagic plug-in from New Millennium Communications
(the plug-in is not included and must be purchased separately).
For a nominal fee (see below) an implementation resource kit is available which includes:
- detailed notes
- additional supporting files
- a reference runtime database
- master password access to the example files
