Automatically Highlighting All Occurrences of a User-Specified Text String.   With the ground-breaking release of version 7 of FileMaker Pro direct support for the application of text formatting by calculation and by script has been included. This provides increased control, while greatly simplifying the the procedures for maniipulation of text formats. This demo file shows new techniques by which text highlighting functionality can be achieved. It achieves a similar result to a counterpart demo which we published for previous versions of FileMaker, but achieves it in an entirely new way, by harnessing the inbuilt text processing functions of FileMaker v7. The technique uses considerably fewer fields than were required in the past, the scripts are simpler and the set-up less painstaking. Yet the result is more robust, more flexible and more efficient. The technique still involves parsing of the source text, but this is now accomplished in a tight seqence focused on a single field.     Mac OS X demo download Win 2000 / XP demo download
