Floating Navigation Palette - Navigation in Preview Mode
There are some things that have not changed in FileMaker 7, and one of them is that custom designed navigation works everywhere else but not in preview mode, where on-screen script buttons are inactive. This has long been a vexation for designers of custom solutions. But it need not be.
Several years ago we published a technique by which a floating 'palette' containing navigation buttons could be used to control the FileMaker preview window. Now, with the release of version 7, which offers the capability for multiple windows per file, this process can be implemented in a new way, yet retaining the power and flexibility of the technique we published for previous versions.
As with our previous floating palette demo, this download provides a tour of the basic technique. It could be described as a 'midrange' version - ie it doesn't have *all* the bells and whistles, but enough to give the general idea.
